“A Legacy Of Honor, Courage and Grace”

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day. However, and very sadly, many Americans have no clue of the sacrifices and dedication that our American law enforcement officers endure and provide.

Statistically, in 2016, an officer in the United States was assaulted every 10 minutes. Since January 2018, through May 15th, 2018, 53 brave police officers are no longer with their loved ones, their communities and are no longer protecting us.

There are more than 900,000 sworn law enforcement officers now serving in the USA. This weeks observances hopefully remind us of the ongoing need to be vigilant against violent crimes, especially to acts of terrorism.

The next time you see a police officer on or off duty, please thank him or her for their extremely brave service and courage.
