Chief Robert Frydryk (Ret.)

Chief Frydryk spent nearly 38 years as a dedicated police officer in his home town of Palmer, Massachusetts. He held the position of Chief of Police for 20 years. During his decorated tenure in law enforcement, Chief Frydryk was appointed as the town’s Director of Public Safety, overseeing all aspects of the community’s Emergency Management planning including the outline of operating procedures to be used in response to disasters or emergencies, such as hurricanes, nuclear accidents, and terrorist attacks, and in recovery from these events and, coordinate disaster response or crisis management activities, such as ordering evacuations, opening public shelters, and implementing special needs plans and programs.

Chief Frydryk was an active member of the both the Massachusetts and Western Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Associations. He served as President of the Western Massachusetts association from 2009-2010 and has been a member of several committees, including Finance, Training and Education, Casino Gambling, and Scholarship.

Chief Frydryk is an active member in local government, chairing his town’s Police Station Building and Town Manager Search committees, and serving as a member of the Safety Committee, School Safety Committee Computer Upgrade Committee, Domestic Violence Task Force, Cross-Border Animal Control Study Committee, and Liquor License Commission.

Bob is a member of Bugles Across America, a national organization that provides “live” Taps at military funerals, and active member of the Palmer Rotary Club.
