Ronald Tetreau

Law Enforcement Subject Matter Expert

Ronald E. Tetreau Jr., born in Worcester Massachusetts is a retired police Detective from the City of Woonsocket, Woonsocket Rhode Island. Serving 24 years as a Law Enforcement Officer and is also a 37-year veteran of both the United States Air Force and the United States Army, he is currently a MSG in the US Army Reserves. He is a graduate of Roger Williams University holding a BS Degree in Criminal Justice and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Terrorism and Counter Terrorism Studies.   

As a police officer in the City of Woonsocket Rhode Island, he served on the SWAT Team for more than 16 years as the Training Coordinator as well as serving as both an Assault Team Leader and Sniper Team Leader participating and leading operations including Barricaded Subjects, High Risk Warrants, Drug Interdiction Operations. He was also a member of the State of Rhode Island Homeland Security Weapons of Mass Destruction Team serving on the Assault Element. He was a guest instructor at the FBI Law Enforcement Sniper School and served as a liaison to Joint Special Operations Command as a Guest Instructor at the FBI Sniper School. As a member of the 1996 Summer Olympics Security Team he was assigned to the Personal Security Detail at the Soccer Venue at the University of Georgia.

His military career includes active duty in the USAF and USAFR from 1983-89, then joining the US Army Reserves in 1989 serving in the187th Infantry BDE, 76th Training Div, 94th Military Police Company, 443rd Civil Affairs BN, Joint Special Operations Command, 75th Training Division, 308th QM Co. and currently serving with the 76th Readiness Command under Task Force 76. His tours of duty include Kosovo 2002, Iraq 2003-04, 2007, 2008-09 and Afghanistan 2011.

Military awards include, Combat Action Badge (2), Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/star, Army Reserve Medal with 20 year device, Iraq Campaign Medal with 3 Stars, Bronze Star Medal w 3OLC, Army Commendation w 3OLC, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal w 3OLC, Army Reserve Component  Achievement Medal 3rd Award, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct, National Defense 2nd Award, Kosovo Campaign Medal, Professional Development Ribbon w/3, Army Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Meritorious Unit Award. His law enforcement decorations include Commendation Awards, Awards for Valor and the American Legion Life Saving Award.

Some of his qualifications in both the Military and Law Enforcement include the US Army Special Reaction Team Course, US Army Hostage Negotiations Course, Law Enforcement Basic and Advanced CQB, Law Enforcement Basic and Advanced Sniper Operations, FBI Law Enforcement Sniper Course, Shoothouse Instructor, SWAT Instructor, Homeland Security WMD Recognition, Homeland Security WMD Tactical Team Commander Course, Homeland Security IED Recognition, Homeland Security WMD Awareness Instructor, Homeland Security WMD Advanced Tactical Team Operations Course, Homeland Security WMD HOT Course, ICS and EOC Courses, Use of Force Instructor, Massachusetts Criminal Justice Training Council Firearms Instructor Certification.

He currently owns a security consulting company, Asymmetric Training and Assessment Group ATAG LLC in Massachusetts, advising school departments in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island and instructs Wilderness Search and Rescue, Basic and Advanced Land Navigation for the State of Rhode Island, RI Emergency Management Agency Search and Rescue. He also is a partner of a firearms holster company Wicked Holsters. He has been married for 35 years, has two children and enjoys spending time with his family. He also enjoys the outdoors and spending time in the woods and at his cabin in Vermont.
